Lieutenant Colonel, 2d Regiment, Texas State Guard 1997-present.
Deputy Commander of the Second Regiment.
Served on State Active Duty in Operations Katrina and Rita and was awarded the Commanding General's Individual Award, the Meritorious Service Award and the Humanitarian Service Award for his actions during those historic military actions.
Honor Guard Serving Bastrop County 2001-present. DOD Certified Provider of Military Funerals, provided over 200 military funerals and memorials for veterans interred in Bastrop COunty
USAF 1970-1992. Aeronautical rating: Command Pilot; Fighter, Instructor & Test Pilot; Flew F-111 jet fighter.

Don continues to
serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Texas State Guard. He serves as
Deputy Commander , 2nd Regiment. The
2nd Regiments based at the Temple, Texas Armory. The TxSG is wholly owned and controlled by the state of Texas and has no federal connections. No soldier can be "called-up" for duty outside Texas. TxSG HQ is at Camp Mabry, Austin. Soldiers serve without compensation. |
